Editorial book competition
The Dokkodo
A design competition to bring the theme of death to the western world in a positive way.

This Japonisme based theme had become a passion project leading to this hand crafted and self bound book with authentic Kozo paper and bound with a waxed french linen thread.
Utilising a theme of balance with two Japanese Fonts, The topic was based on zen minimalism in design.
The topic was about a samurai known as Miyamoto Musashi, a famous samurai known culturally and historically for his immense skill and wisdom.
The dokkodo is a scripture relaying 21 rules a samurai should live by, written before the samurais death, as a way for future beings to live in peace and harmony in a world surrounded by threat.
